Sam Markle, born in Winnipeg (a long, long time ago), transformed his one-man sign painting operation into a full-service, high profile architectural sign company, The Brothers Markle Inc., (co-owned with his brother Jack). They pioneered the renaissance of neon, and subsequently the landscape of downtown Toronto and its environs have been changed forever.

The company became a legend in the North American sign industry, developing a number of firsts, including architectural extrusions and computerized building directories.

The Brothers client list reads like a 'Who's Who' of Canadian business, including major developers, architects, designers, governments, hospitals, theatres, etc. The company has produced some of the most interesting and dynamic signage in Toronto and beyond.
